The Role: Store Planner (1 Year Contract)

What you will be doing:

  • Provides ongoing support and design interpretation to the Real Estate and Construction teams via concept drawings and vendor management
  • Delivers high volume production of drawings, floor plans, renderings with detail and accuracy
  • Coordinates and develop new fixtures, signage & displays to improve and support product presentation
  • Communicates and partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project adherence to established deadlines and budgets
  • Supports the acquisition of new stores through examining vendor store layout and making design recommendations, assimilating it’s look and feel to that of Rexall
  • Manages external supplier/vendor contracts with value and cost effectiveness always at front of mind
  • Participates in weekly Design/Construction Project Reviews to ensure all new stores and renovations reflect Brand goals, and that they meet the established design quality expectations, market requirements and approved budgets
  • Acts as subject matter expert for new, retrofit and expansion of store projects from design to grand opening
  • Maintains CAD and REVIT drawings to ensure store consistency and successful execution of updated merchandising and marketing strategies

How you will succeed:


  • College diploma in Architectural Technology; University degree in a design discipline preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in the design sector required; 2-5 years relevant experience within a national, multi-unit retail environment also required
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating the efforts of external vendors
  • Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Lotus Notes; advanced AutoCAD and Revit experience is required
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills required Advanced knowledge of construction methodologies, architectural design and planning principles.
  • Working knowledge of the operating practices of construction, architectural and buildings
  • Able to foster a cooperative business environment and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
