How will you make an impact:
- Supervise, train and develop staff to ensure both Sales and Accounts Receivable data loads are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Evaluate staff performance and provide regular feedback to ensure the best staffing levels are achieved for the department.
- Review, monitor and approve both automated and manual activities related to the accurate and timely reporting of Sales and Margin information to ensure data accuracy to Data warehouse.
- Review and approve all Third-Party Plan invoice load and payment match results to ensure aged items are cleared and or investigated to limit risk of write offs.
- Review and approve all store Charge Account payment applications to ensure accurate applying to accounts.
- Review Store Tender aging reports weekly to ensure aged items are cleared and or investigated with Loss Prevention or Banking to limit risk of loss.
- Support internal and external audits, and ensure next day audit request are responded to in a timely manner to ensure minimal losses.
- Responsible for ensuring all General Ledger account reconciliations are reviewed for completeness and balanced to subledgers on a period basis to reduce risk. Investigate and resolved any discrepancies in a timely manner to avoid write offs.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Rexall Pharmacy Group Ltd.
Qualifications to Succeed:
- 2-3-year College diploma in Business or Accounting required; university degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in an accounting role is required
- Supervisory/team leader experience preferred
- CPA enrollment preferred
- Retail accounting experiences an asset
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- JDE and Pharmacy Systems Software experience an asset
- Good knowledge of accounting practices required
- Strong computer skills-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel required
- Superior customer service skills
- Strict confidentiality
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Excellent time management and analytical skills
