Reporting to the Vice President, Pharmacy, the Director, Pharmaceutical Insights will be responsible for leading generic and brand programs, formulating management and program agreements.
The Director, Pharmaceutical Insights, will interact with McKesson supply chain and procurement to ensure accurate reporting of analytics, rates and awards. This role will lead all aspects of trending to quantify implications of market/regulatory changes to pharmacy programs; as well as project management activities for all strategic supply sourcing initiatives.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead implementation of new formulary transitions by coordinating timing of release, inventory on hand, and return processes with the McKesson supply chain and Rexall Operations leads
- Lead work with Pharmacy Services, Supply Chain and Operations on improvement projects, such as Generic Efficiency, Formulary Compliance, and inventory management
- Establish and build a relationship with new and existing vendor partnerships to develop, design and execute vendor programs that generate value to the business, customers and vendor partners
- Provide project management support for all activities related to direct sourcing for a generic program
- Proactively discuss business strategies with Manufacturers relating but not limited to new product launches, Rexall strategic initiatives, industry trends
- Conduct monthly forecasting on program billings to ensure accurate year end collections by manufacturer
- Coordinate contract amendments for a variety of programs by manufacturer
- Ensure accurate billings and reporting in collaboration with finance
- Provide mentoring and leadership to direct report
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Rexall Pharmacy Group Ltd.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in either generic or brand pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge or work experience in vendor or account management roles, particularly trade relationship
- Experience in pharmaceutical retail is a strong asset
- Proven ability to work in a cross functional environment and establish relationships across the organization
- Team leadership experience is an asset
- Good analytical skills and logical thinking
- Good negotiation skills with strong eye for business
- Excellent initiative and follow through skills
- Strong organizational skills with the capability to handle diverse priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of full Microsoft Suite with emphasis on sophisticated Excel functions and financial modeling skills
- University degree in Sciences, Business or Commence
