Job Description

Job Purpose:


To achieve excellence in service and sales of beauty products to customers, by providing information, advice, counsel, and instruction. To coach and advise Front Store Manager’s and Cosmetician’s on opportunities in their departments and to grow sales and expertise in visual merchandising and product knowledge and sales.

Principal Responsibilities:

Sales Expectations

  • Maximize sales and growth of promotional programs with Cosmetic teams
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of sales targets for the week/period for the district
  • Coach the cosmetic leaders on how to Identify and individualize customer needs
  • Coach cosmetic teams on how to sell, through demonstration and education
  • Instill the belief that “selling is fun!” in our teams
  • Promote sales of, and provide information on new or existing cosmetic products and services to customers and our cosmetics teams

Customer Service

  • Provide whilst in store, and coach the cosmetic teams, on how to provide outstanding customer service, consultations, demonstrations, etc (i.e., make-up applications, skin care consultations, and fragrance demonstrations)
  • Build customer loyalty through follow up and repeat business and Be Well loyalty programs and events
  • Resolve customer complaints within guidelines and coach teams on how to deal with conflict effectively.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and coach on the use of Beauty Rx or Vendor Client File System, including flat screen computer, product knowledge, and Beauty Rx Client Files
  • Build and maintain an active client file for outstanding customer service and improving sales
  • Coach on how to Book appointments for events

Operations

  • Exhibit and promote the company’s product and services, and provide information to interested parties, and share with the teams
  • Create impactful displays and set up promotions and share pictures with the district on how to better merchandise their department for looks and sales
  • Assist in identifying cosmeticians to nominate for the COSA awards
  • Engage in professional development to ensure product knowledge is current and up to date i.e. iLearns, Cosmetic essentials web based training etc.
  • Adhere to cosmetic operating standards and help coach other stores
  • Complete all required sales tracking forms and share the processes with the cosmetic teams
  • Demonstrate a professional image, including clean and complete uniform

General

  • Follows all health and safety regulations
  • Follow and train all staff to follow all store policies and procedures
  • Follows asset protection policies and procedures to ensure that S.O.P’s are executed in the department
  • Act as a subject matter advisor to cosmeticians regarding product knowledge, store procedures, etc.
  • Work in multiple locations in the district
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • High School Education required, plus cosmetic product knowledge and sales training
  • 2 years cosmetic selling experience and leadership experience
  • Ability to provide advice and be a team leader for cosmetic employees
  • Proven experience as a Makeup Artist, Fragrance Specialist and/or Esthetician considered an asset
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Proven consultative skills
  • Prior experience in merchandising and selling
  • Good knowledge of various beauty products and services available
  • Customer Service experience
  • Work on nights and weekends will be required

The successful candidate will think independently and make decisions when dealing with customer issues and devise appropriate solutions. Ability to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends. Ability to represent the company in ensuring that the vision created by management is carried out in relation to the specific job. Ability to be an effective coach with a wide variety of skilled cosmeticians. Ability to coach on store standards and effective and visually appealing merchandising.
