Corporate Strategy Manager

The existing Manager, Corporate Strategy role focuses on supporting corporate strategic initiatives through Structured Problem Solving & Modelling, Business Development, Market Analysis, and Stakeholder Management and Communication. Reporting into the Vice President, Data, Analytics & Strategy, this role operates with a significant degree of autonomy and has high visibility with significant exposure to the executive team.
What you’ll be doing:
The Manager, Corporate Strategy will support and lead several strategic initiatives at Rexall, with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Structured Problem Solving & Modelling:
- Transform high-level strategic objectives or challenges into structured projects, coordinating data, analytics and insight across key stakeholders.
- Build business cases with financial and operational models to assess strategic opportunities.
Business Development:
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities that align with Rexall’s strategic priorities, including market analysis, building business cases and coordinating discussions with internal and external key stakeholders.
Market Analysis:
- Develop and maintain key analysis on market trends, including pharmacy and drug trends, front-store market trends, consumer trends, competitor analysis, etc.
- Identify early market trends, size relevant market opportunities and present recommendations to key executive and senior team stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional business unit leaders, the executive team, external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and present clear and concise materials for strategic decision-making meetings.
- Project manage the design and development of new business opportunities in collaboration with business unit leaders.
Perform other related job duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant university degree such as a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, Management, Business/Administration, Marketing or Statistics.
- 3+ years of strategy, analytics, and/or corporate development work experience in retail, consulting, operational, or other relevant industry such as finance.
- Strong analytical capabilities, able to synthesize and analyze large amounts of information effectively.
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and phases.
- Demonstrated experience in leading meetings with cross-functional teams and working directly with executives.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to summarize and present findings clearly and succinctly.
- Ability to build rapport and credibility with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
