Asset Protection Specialist
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Asset Protection Manager, this position is responsible for providing analytical support for various Asset Protection initiatives as well as new store/capital projects. The Asset Protection Specialist will review and analyze business reports, as well as provide ongoing development and improvement of the reporting and analytical tools available to the Asset Protection Department to support shrink reduction and risk mitigation strategies within the Rexall Pharmacy Group Ltd. Will attend design and construction meetings and represent AP for these projects.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Review and compile (with External Fraud and Crime specialist) Asset Protection Reporting on apprehensions, break and enter, robberies, Internal and external theft each period for Director Asset Protection
- Create queries and reports in Agilence platform to detect and identify internal integrity issues, process violations, and monitor policy avoidance to initiate investigation or communications to Asset Protection and Operations department.
- Be the key point of contact with Agilence Administrators; define “job queries” and Ad Hoc reports for Store specific reporting and analysis. Responsible for help requests and issues with vendor.
- Prepare Suspicious Activity reports and action reports for Asset Protection managers to investigate. Ensure follow up is occurring on reports sent to the field.
- Initiate and complete internal investigations when required.
- Actioning New Store, Acquisition and Reno security planning (meetings, quotes, vendor communication), ensuring Senior Asset Protection Manager is briefed on projects and any concerns or budgetary issues are brought to their attention.
- Provide regular, accurate, and detailed data analysis reports for Asset Protection Managers and District Leaders across Canada to assist with shrink reduction strategies including High Risk Program, Agilence and Store Awareness Programs.
- Act as the secondary point of contact and as such liaise daily with for preferred Security Vendors ensuring proper business practices are followed according to the Preferred Vendor Contracts and to improve overall processes relating to project quotes, scheduling, and invoicing.
- AP Specialist will maintain the Asset Protection Department Data bases including Intrusion detection, Alarm Code Holder, CCTV Inventory library, Electronic Article Surveillance equipment inventory library, asset warranties and service records
- Backup support of Remedy ticket and store requests when required
- Century Office Health and Safety JHSC representative
- Support monthly Champion Health and Safety calls, and Quarterly HSAA Health and Safety meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Rexall Pharmacy Group Ltd.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Minimum Community College Diploma required
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience in a role requiring solid understanding of data analysis and reporting tools; relevant experience in a retail environment would be an asset.
- Strong business and financial acuity
- Prior experience in a Data Analyst role
- Proficiency in enterprise software systems (Exception Based Reporting / Point of Sale)
- Strong Retail and/or Operations experience is an asset.
- Basic understanding of CCTV, Alarm monitoring, EAS systems
- Exceptional skills in MS Office specifically Excel, Access, Word and Power Point.
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple project(s)/tasks(s); detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative, multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment requires little to no supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Context and Environment:
Must be able to perform in a highly fast paced and changing environment to initiate, build, and maintain a strong rapport with key customers. As a liaison for Asset Protection initiatives, the Asset Protection Specialist will communicate with various departments within the company to ensure that analytic requirements are met. Need is on providing support to the Asset Protection Team and as well as a support for Store Operations through Risk Management. Prioritize multiple complex projects (renos, new capital) and tasks and meet ambitious deadlines.
Internal Communications:
- Work closely with Asset Protection Managers, District Leaders, and Operations Executives, with respect to analysis of programs and information/ data stream, provide ongoing feedback.
- Liaise with internal corporate departments to utilize full company resources for analysis of programs.
