The Role: Accounts Receivable Analyst

How will you make an impact:

  • Monitor and review ADP billings on a bi-weekly basis to follow-up with HHC Operations team.
  • Review EFT payments and distribute funds to appropriate store/head office accounts
  • Coordinate with Third Party to identify and apply Third-Party payments designated for store charge accounts
  • Prepare period reports for Operations and Finance including but not limited to charge account aging, at-risk and aged accounts, balances written off, accounts sent to collections
  • Facilitate the reconciliation and payment distribution of Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL)
  • Assist store and operation teams with charge account related tasks which include but are not limited to EFT set-up, cheque requisitions, charge account set-up or adjustment, NSF Cheques, and sending accounts to collections
  • Monitor and report on the progress of accounts in collection
  • Analyze and investigate unusual events and/or transactions in POS
  • Prepare journal entries as required
  • Prepare General Ledger reconciliation for assigned accounts to ensure balance reconciles to subledgers or control accounts.
  • Reconcile, upload, and create receipts in JDE for matching of plan payments
  • Conduct cash application and manually investigate all unmatched items by the correct plan and store in a timely manner
  • Prepare weekly aging reports for Store Deposits, identify areas of possible risk based on aging and work with staff to action or report to reduce risk of loss. Matching of deposits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Rexall Pharmacy Group ULC

How you will Succeed:

  • 2-3-year College diploma in Business or Accounting required
  • 2-3 years of experience in an accounts receivable role is required
  • Experience with JDE, POS Systems, AS400 and running queries from databases (DW) preferred.
  • Retail accounting experiences an asset
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Solid understanding of accounting practices required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, intermediate Microsoft Excel required.
  • Strict confidentiality

  • Able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent time management and analytical skills
