Reporting into the VP Store Operations, the Zone Director has P&L accountability for all store Operations and is focused on the execution of the strategy to ensure that store operations are well positioned, with defined operational processes, building superior bench strength and developing overall underpinning to deliver sustainable high-performance results.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee overall regional operations, to ensure growth in profitability and operational excellence in support of Rexall’s overall business strategy.
- Ensure outstanding customer service and patient care while controlling expenses
- Focusing and executing on Rexall’s Strategic Direction with ensuring patient and customers have the appropriate and trusted services provided at store level.
- Develop and implement strategies with an ultimate goal to increase sales, profit and gross margin
- Oversee financial planning and control in designated areas while ensuring compliance with corporate controls and directives
- Ensure adherences to uniform processes and disciplines across the entire area and maintain store-to-store consistency
- Drive employee engagement, clinic days, adherence programs, professional services, Be Well program growth, Rexall Private Label products and flyer programs
- Control inventory targets, shrink and controllable store expenses
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to direct reports. Ensure that the succession planning process is in place, high potential performers identified and have an established career path
- Recruiting, coaching and mentoring to upgrade and develop regional teams
- Ensure adherence to Federal, provincial and company regulations and/or guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Rexall Pharmacy Group Ltd.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- University degree in Business preferred, or a relevant field.
- 8+ years relevant management experience; solid understanding of retail (pharmacy retail in particular).
- Superior planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Multi-Unit experience.
- Ability to lead multiple tasks and projects with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and empower a large group of people.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Ability to understand, plan, and execute budgets.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Valid driving license is required.
- Pharmacy experience is a valuable asset.
