How will you make an impact:
- Maintain occupancy prepaid and provision schedules; investigate reconciliation issues coordinating with Real Estate Department, including base, percent, straight line rent, subtenant rent, property taxes, cam, and prior year adjustments.
- Conduct month end analysis including but not limited to occupancy, payroll, accruals, allocations, repairs & maintenance accounts and various other G&A accounts.
- Responsible for month-end close activities such as booking various journal entries, allocating costs across stores and cost centers, prepare and analyze actual variances versus budget/forecast and other month end tasks.
- Review and reconcile various GL accounts assigned including analysis and investigation.
- Upload bi-weekly payroll and benefits files and review to ensure files are free of errors prior to upload.
- Analyze payroll and benefits files and work with operational Finance team to prepare month-end accruals and adjustments.
- Provide variance analysis against forecast and budgets for period-close meetings with the advertising and operations team.
- Evaluate and develop accounting procedures and policies, including documenting process flows and implementing SOP’s.
- Assist with weekly P&L reporting for management.
- Prepare and analyze various ad hoc reports as required by the management.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
How you will succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting required
- Enrollment in CPA/CGA/CMA accounting designation required
- 2-3 years experience with enterprise software including fixed asset module, JD Edwards an asset
- Ability to meet month end deadlines
- Good working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
